Versace for H&M

Versace for H&M

After it’s collaboration with designers Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo and, most recently, Lanvin, H&M will now collaborate with Versace to offer its latest exclusive designer collection.

What to expect from this collection?

Designed by Versace’s creative director, Donatella Versace, we will be expecting the vibrant heritage of the brand, full of leather, print, colour and exuberance in exclusive materials at fantastic H&M prices. The collection will include ranges for women, men and selected pieces for the home.

This collection is also expected by November 17 this year within around 300 stores worldwide, even on-line. In addition, Versace has also designed a pre-spring collection for H&M which will be exclusively available in countries with H&M on-line sales from January 19, 2012.

So who’s excited? I know I am :)

DLSU @ 100

De La Salle University was founded over a hundred years ago at exactly June 16 2011. And so, yesterday marked the 100 years of La Sallian presence here in the Philippines.

I must say that the place was jampacked!! Well, as much as the programs and events did!! There were just too many people, of course, DLSU just has so many campuses and students + outsiders from different Colleges and Universities + parents. There were so much people that I didn't get to meet Jessa :( And I must say, I didn't get the chance to go food tripping coz that was the most crowded place ever!! People weren't even moving! Yet, I got the chance to eat Cali Maki :D

Here are photos of my experience:

NAIL ART!!

To escape the crowd, we watched Strings and Stanzas where we chilled and spent the time to wait for the fireworks display!! :) Josel's and Kat's friend performed and they even surprised us because RICHARD POON came to perform 2 songs too!! :) -- Will post a picture of Richard Poon serenading us, soon!

And here's my friend Kat whom I haven't seen in years!! Oh how I missed her! We just didn't change a bit :D

So here are La Sallians singing their anthem!! Of course, I just took pictures coz I had no idea of the song!

Btw, here are some of the things I bought in the Bazaar!!! :) The bracelet from Cravemore, Feather earring from Anagon Collections, FTW necklace from Freestyle Necklaces, a Keep Calm and Dance On ring, and a cute bookmark from Artwine!! :D

Here I am with my froshie sister!! :) She bought me the shirt, btw. Libre! :)

And baby who also came straight from the Colegio in green!! :)

The experience was very much overwhelming yet of course, I didn't have the school spirit because I admit, my heart belongs to Letran even though they piss me of many times! Only then last night have I realized how much I miss my Alma Matter and that my yells and cheers would be for Letran, and only Letran. Let's just say that I came to celebrate La Salle's Centennial event to support my sister and friends who went there. And as a matter of fact, I was ashamed to be wearing the shirt the whole day coz most people thought I was a student there when I am not. And if you guys have been following me on twitter, you would notice that I only # tag #DLSU100 and never will I tag #AnimoLaSalle because I'm a true-blooded Letranite. To that I end this post greeting friends from La Salle a Congratulations and Arriba Letran!! -- Oh how I wish I can witness Letran celebrate it's 400 years in 2020!! :D

Well, La Salle have prepared one grand and exciting program for tomorrow's once in a lifetime event! And what I am very much excited about is their Centennial Bazaar - means lots of food, accessories and clothes for sale. And from what I have heard from The Fashionista Commuter Blog, I wanna try the Harry Potter Stall and the Nail Art Booths!! But of course, I will definitely drop by Ana's Booth!! Lot's of accessories to choose from!!!

And as you can see with all the exclamation points, I am psyched about tomorrow!! Who else will be there, let's meet please? See you!! :)

Reel Patriotism: Movies that Celebrate Pinoy Pride

As we celebrate The 113th Philippines' Declaration of Independence on June 12, 2011 - Sunday.. We can sit at home, relax and enjoy movies that best shows and describes how The Philippines was way back then. Movies that will give us more knowledge of how our country was in the past as what we always say - "It is the past that defines the present and helps predict the future".

1. Rosario

Set in the 1920s, this beautiful period film tells the story of a woman ahead of her time. While it portrays the suffering Rosario (Jennylyn Mercado) must endure because of her passion and her defiance of social norms, the movie also celebrates the Filipina’s liberation from convention and prevalent patriarchal beliefs.

2. Independencia

Directed by Raya Martin, this independent art film has been the recipient of international awards, including the Grand Prize for the Southeast Asian Competition at the 2009 Bangkok International Film Festival and the NETPAC Jury Prize. Through focusing on the life of a small Filipino family who has sought refuge in the woods and away from the chaos that is starting to beset the rest of the country at the turn of the 20th century, the film depicts the characters’ daily fight for survival, interspersed with their broader search for humanity, identity, and freedom in the face of the American occupation.

3. El Filibusterismo, 1962

Gerardo de Leon’s cinematic adaptation of Jose Rizal’s novel provides evocative cinematography and captures the humanity of Rizal’s gothic characters, all of whom represent a particular aspect of Philippine society during the Spanish colonization.

4. Imelda

Although some people know little about Imelda Marcos beyond the fact that she was the wife of Ferdinand Marcos and famed for owning over a thousand pairs of shoes, this documentary gives viewers a broader perspective on her personal history and her opinions about what transpired during the Marcos regime. Raw in its presentation and with occasional moments of dark comedy, this interview with the former first lady showcases her predilection for luxury and self-invention and contrasts this with the testimonials of those who have opposed her (some of whom were torture victims during the Marcos era).

And last but not the least, as we celebrate Dr. Jose Rizal's 150th Birthday on June 19.

5. Jose Rizal

Acclaimed for its stunning cinematography, poignant storyline, and exceptional acting, Marilou Diaz-Abaya’s film is an epic portrayal of the life of our national hero, the persecution of the Filipino people, and the birth of a revolution against Spanish rule.

Curly hair is sexy!

Today, I was supposed to attend a friend's wedding and was actually really having a hard time deciding if I should curl my hair or just straighten it. Well if you ask me, the length of my hair still have problems when it comes to curling it. It's either it's so sabog or just fine. But when I asked in twitter if I should have it curled or straightened, one follower answered "curly" and so I did. To my surprise, it turned out to be perfect!! The curls were just perfect that it made my day!! And when I uploaded this photo on facebook, friends started to comment on how I look like Alondra - Ms. Lorna Tolentino in Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin and/or Maricel Soriano. Hahaha!

When I was a child, my real hair was curly.. Like Goldilocks' curls which was really cute - well, when I was a kid. But when I reached the teenage stage, and rebonded hair was kind of in style, I had my hair rebonded. Well, I wanted my hair straight at that time because curly hair was just so nakakasawa! And now that I've had straight hair in a long time, I want my hair to grow more and then have it curled.. because now I find it SEXY!

And now, Top 2 celebrities with the sexiest curls for me!! :)

Since I loved my curls today.. I might as well curl it tomorrow for my date with my honeybunch at SM MOA. We're going to watch The Hangover 2!! And I'm hella excited! :D
